How many guests can the ranch hold?

Up to 200 guests for a reception in the historic hangar. The Meadow package is for up to 50 guests. The three log cabins sleep 14 in total, and there is on-site camping for extra guests (ask us for pricing).

What is included with every wedding?

The historic hangar, ceremony sites at the meadow, mountain, and pond (one of your choice with The Meadow), ample parking, campfire rings, pond boats, and trails that border the national forest. Outside caterers are welcome. Bitterroot Celebration, Mountain Escape and Montana Legacy are exclusive use. Each package adds its own hours, hangar use, and lodging, so check the packages above.

Where do wedding guests stay?

The three log cabins sleep 14: the Cottonwood sleeps up to 8, the Ponderosa up to 4, and the Aspen 2. Mountain Escape (one night) and Montana Legacy (two nights) include all three. The Meadow and Bitterroot Celebration don't include overnight stays, but the cabins can be rented by the night: Aspen $250; Ponderosa $300; Cottonwood $400; all three for $950 a night. 3-night minimum. Camping is available too. Ask us.

Can we bring our own caterer?

Yes. Outside caterers are welcome at every package, so you can bring the caterer you love.

How far is Alta Ranch from Missoula?

Alta Ranch is near Darby, Montana, about two hours south of Missoula, on the West Fork of the Bitterroot River.

Will we really have the ranch to ourselves?

For Bitterroot Celebration, Mountain Escape and Montana Legacy, yes. Those packages are exclusive use, so the whole property is yours with no other groups on the land. The Meadow, our 8-hour microwedding, is not exclusive use. The hangar and your ceremony site are yours for the event, and our cabins may be rented to other guests that day.

Do you publish your wedding prices?

Yes. Four packages: The Meadow micro wedding is $2,750 for up to 50 guests; the Bitterroot Celebration one full day is $4,000; the Mountain Escape two days is $6,900; and the Montana Legacy three days is $9,900. Extra hours and camping are priced on request, so ask us.

How do we book our wedding date?

Send us your date, and come walk the land before you book. Visits are encouraged. We host a limited number of weddings each year, so earlier is better. You can also call (406) 349-2142.
